Camp FAQ:

Write On! Young Writers' Camp is open to any student who is entering grades 5-9 in the fall.

Campers should bring a water bottle, their welcome bag with its goodies (they'll receive this on Monday morning!), as well as a packed lunch (except for Friday, when camp will host a publishing party for the campers and their families!)

Nope! All they need is a willingness to learn, write, and work with others! Write On! camp is designed for all writers, from brand new beginners to well-seasoned writers - there's something for everyone to learn!

Yes! Campers will receive at least two snacks a day at camp.

Campers are invited to celebrate the end of the week with family and friends at our final publishing party on Friday afternoon! The celebration includes a simple cookout lunch, a cold brew coffee bar featuring coffee from Black Magic Coffee, and plenty of time to share and celebrate the work created throughout the week. Students will have the opportunity to read favorite pieces aloud to the full group if they’d like, as well as share their writing more personally with family members during the event.

Write On! Youth Writing Camp is intentionally designed to be a space where all writers feel welcomed, encouraged, and comfortable being themselves (or rather, themselves with a notebook!). While campers are always welcome to share their writing during activities like Author’s Chair or the Publishing Party, there is never any pressure or requirement to read aloud. We believe every young writer should be able to participate at their own comfort level while growing in confidence throughout the week.

Registration ends June 1, giving the camp director time to plan adequately for the incoming writers and offer a fully welcoming, memorable camp experience!
